From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of characters who will split off from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might look unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and best friend, desires retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could help the team enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This means them no alternative but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
